This is a three-day meeting being organised by the Egyptian National Commission for UNESCO to help advance the UNESCO-IAU Astronomy and World Heritage Initiative.

There will be a presentation and discussion of the ICOMOS-IAU Thematic Study on Astronomy and World Heritage, which should by then be at the point of going to press.

On the day before the meeting (Monday Feb 22) there will be an opportunity for delegates to view the sun's rays reaching the interior of Abu Simbel temple.
